Commercial Credit Manager of the Year

Individuals may work in any credit discipline in the commercial/trade sphere (for example credit/collections/customer services, debt collection agency, business banking, factoring/invoice discounting firm). Applicants should normally have responsibility for staff and/or policy. Applications should describe the manner in which the credit manager has made a significant contribution to his/her organisation, by excellent performance in one or more of the following areas:

 

  • Technical expertise. Demonstrating an understanding of one or more specialist credit activities, for example credit policy, credit risk assessment, contracts, collections recovery through the courts, sales ledger management, and insolvency
  • Management skills. Demonstrating the qualities of a business-orientated manager by, for example, staff training, motivation and retention, achievement of credit qualifications, sound financial management
  • Innovation. Using new methods to enhance and extend the role of the credit function within the organisation externally
  • Systems. The introduction and application of credit related administrative and computerised systems the benefit of the overall organisation.
