Consumer Credit Manager of the Year

Individuals may work in any credit discipline in the consumer sphere, for example credit/collections/ customer services, debt collection agency, retail banking. Applicants should normally have responsibility for staff or policy. Applications should describe the manner in which the credit manager has made a significant contribution to his or her organisation, by excellent performance in one or more of the following areas:

  • Technical expertise. Demonstrating an outstanding understanding of one or more specialist credit activities, for example credit policy, credit risk assessment, contracts, collections, recovery through the courts, sales ledger management, bankruptcy
  • Management skills. Demonstrating the qualities of a business-orientated manager by, for example staff training, motivation and retention, achievement of credit qualifications, sound financial management
  • Innovation. Using new methods to enhance and extend the role of the credit function within the organisation internally
  • Systems. The introduction and application of credit related administrative and computerised systems to the benefit of the overall organization
