Do’s & don’ts

Do:

  • Ensure the information supplied is fact not fiction, and back up with evidence where possible
  • Ensure your entry is succinct and focuses on the criteria set out for your category. Use sub headings according to the criteria set out to make it easy for the judges to spot success
  • Ensure you have read the criteria and you are entering the correct category
  • Ensure you include achievements over and above what is expected of a team, individual or firm in your chosen category

Don’t:

  • Assume that the judges know or know of the nominee’s organisation. In the majority of cases the judges will certainly not know the nominees themselves and may know little about the organisation they work for
  • Miss the deadline for submitting your entry – download the form in advance and ensure you have enough time to complete it with all the relevant information
  • Provide marketing or sales material or press releases of a company that in reality has no bearing on the nomination
  • Use gimmicks to attract the judges attention. The awards are a serious undertaking and they make every effort to assess every entrant in a considered and professional manner
